Class Description:
Join the Hot & Bothered team for our brand new sacred reading course: Praying with Persuasion! 

As a companion to our upcoming season of Hot & Bothered on Jane Austen’s Persuasion, the H&B team will gather with class participants over Zoom, following each episode of the podcast, to delve further into Austen’s Persuasion and treat it as sacred. 

For 45 minutes each week, the class will meet to close-read passages from the novel, linger over individual sentences, and explore the questions that make Austen's work so enduring: How do we change? What does it mean to be persuaded? Where do we see ourselves in these characters and their choices?

Class will be Sunday evenings at 7pm Eastern, starting July 19th. They'll be recorded in case you can't join live.

Important info for H&B Patrons: $50/month patrons of Hot & Bothered receive this class without paying for tuition. You can join one of two ways:

Pre-class Assignment:

Make sure you have access to a copy of Persuasion by Jane Austen— no need to have ever read Persuasion or to read the entire novel before first class, as we will digest one chapter at a time!
